I was in the big city recently. Revisiting. A time to remember. A couple of weeks spent joining it's inhabitants in their daily rituals. In the subways, biways and highways. In their offices. In their dwellings. Dreaming the impossible dream. Over and over again. Tantalising. Provocative. Simply check in. But not without a price. You can check out anytime if you like. But then it'll be too late. Before you even know it. About to lose my worried mind. Until the fields beckoned me again..
I don't know exactly what a payer is
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life
